History
Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Department of Electricity and Energy, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology Program, enrolled students in the 1994-1995 academic year.
Qualification Awarded
Upon graduation, an Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician diploma is obtained. The title is Technician.
Admission Requirements
In our country, it is necessary to be successful in the selection exam administered by ÖSYM and to graduate from a vocational high school in order to enter universities.
Higher Grade Transition
Those who successfully complete the associate degree program can transfer to the Mechanical Engineering undergraduate program if they are successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam held by ÖSYM.
Graduation Requirements
In order to successfully complete the program, it is necessary to successfully complete all the courses in the program (equivalent to 120 credits) and achieve a grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Those who have completed the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology Program are given the title of "Air Conditioning-Refrigeration Technician". The air conditioning-cooling technician carries out the works planned for the construction, installation and operation of the heating, cooling and ventilation systems of the buildings under the supervision and management of the mechanical engineer; installs engines, lays pipes, maintains and repairs the system.
Assessment and Grading
Exams; The midterm exam consists of the final exam, make-up exam, make-up exam, exemption exam and a single course exam. Exam evaluation is determined by the instructors according to the requirements of the courses. In cases where the instructor deems necessary, homework, project or application studies can also be evaluated with grades.
Midterm Exams: At least one midterm exam is held for the courses offered in each semester. If there is no other evaluation other than the midterm exam, the score obtained from the midterm exam can be 40 ~ 50% of the passing grade.
Final Exams: It is made to determine the success of the student from the courses completed at the end of the semester. Final exam evaluation is 50 ~ 60% of the passing grade. The weight of the final exam in the passing grade cannot be less than 50% as required by the regulations.
Make-up Exams: Students who cannot take the midterm or final exam due to a justified and valid excuse are given a make-up exam by the relevant board of directors. In order for the student to be admitted to the make-up exam, he must have applied to the dean's office / directorate within 3 days from the day of his excuse with a petition based on documents and his excuse must be accepted by the relevant board of directors.
Make-up exams: Students can take the make-up exams for the courses they failed by getting FD or FF grades at the end of the final exams and the courses they passed by getting DD or DC grades. The grade obtained in the make-up exam replaces the final exam grade of that course. The weights of the midterm and make-up exams are calculated as in the final exams. Regardless of the previous grade, the final grade is taken as basis for the courses taken for the make-up exam.
Exemption Exams: It is held on the dates specified in the academic calendar for the courses determined by the Senate. MM grade is given to students who pass these exams. The credits taken from these courses are added to the graduation credit. MM grade does not have a weighted credit rating affecting the overall grade average.
Single Course Exam: Students who have fulfilled the attendance requirement for graduation and have only one unsuccessful course remaining may enter the single course exam for the course they failed. In addition, in order to graduate, students who are successful in all courses in the education program they are enrolled in, but cannot graduate because their GPA is below 2.00, if they apply to the head of the department with a petition to increase their GPA, the relevant board decision They can take the single course exam with. One-course exam right can be used only once.

For each course students take, one of the following letter grades is given as a semester success grade by the instructor assigned to conduct that course.

"TT" is given to students who have not met the attendance requirement in classes and / or practical studies. Students who are successful in the Foreign Language Preparatory Program Proficiency Exam are exempted from common compulsory foreign language: (English, German, French) courses and are evaluated with “MM”. “GG” is given to students who are successful in their internships in the Foreign Language Preparatory Program and the education and training program. “KK” is given to students who are unsuccessful in internship studies in the Foreign Language Preparatory Program and the education and training program. For the "VV", courses that have been removed from the education program or for which no other courses are replaced and which do not have to be passed, the recommendation of the department chair is given by the decision of the relevant administrative board.
